Disposal Frankfurt, Germany

Entsorgung Frankfurt — Bomb disposal experts have safely defused a huge unexploded World War II-era British bomb in the German financial capital, Frankfurt. The blast was triggered by construction workers uncovering the 4,000-pound device while working to install a new tram stop, causing residents of a wide area around the site to be evacuated. Hospital patients and the elderly were among those forced to leave their homes. Hundreds of police and firefighters were on hand to help with the evacuations. Ambulances lined up to take those unable to walk away from the scene.

Disposal Frankfurt

The city’s waste company, FES Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH, started operating its first six fully electric waste collection vehicles from the eEconics series on Thursday. These are also the first series vehicles of their kind in Germany and will immediately make a positive contribution to Frankfurt’s CO2 footprint thanks to zero local emissions. The same charging infrastructure will be used for the company’s e-tractor units, which are operated to transport slag waste from the MHKW (the waste incineration plant) to Wicker and to transport commercial waste in the city.

In addition, a large number of public transport e-buses recharge there.

Germany has a very evolved approach to trash disposal, with the country committed to being almost zero-waste. That means you must recycle or accept scorn from the locals when they see your trash. It’s easy to do in Frankfurt, though – you have 4 bins at your disposal:
